Plot
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is the first book of the series To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. Just like books on happiness, young adult is also the most acceptable genre in the US community.
Lara Jean’s point of view is reflected in the first-person narrative of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. The writing isn’t very fantastic at the start. But the plot held my interest long enough for me to finish reading. I’m not sure if the writing got better or if I just started to ignore it as I grew absorbed in the plot, but I obviously finished it, so that’s got to count for something. A fun Young Adult romance can absolutely be had using the premise as a fantastic hook. I used to despise the Young Adult novel trope of “I loathe you, but now I adore you,” but I’m slowly coming to enjoy it. In addition, I much prefer a catfish plot over a fake-dating storyline, Jennifer Han
Characters
The characters in this narrative are fantastic, in addition to the interesting premise. I started to appreciate Lara Jean and Peter, despite the fact that I believed they occasionally behaved or sounded more like children than like teenagers. They both act and say some pretty crazy things, and neither of them is a good person, but that’s fairly realistic for teens, so it matched the story. In the end, I experienced butterflies, and to me, a good book is one that can do the same. I simply adore their romance so much.
In addition to Lara Jean and Peter’s fictitious and genuine romance, I also greatly liked Lara Jean’s family. They are such a close-knit, fun, and loving family, and it frequently made me grin. Despite the fact that Lara Jean has a family of girls and I have two brothers, I was able to identify with her sibling relationships. To be honest, I think it unusual for families to have siblings as close as Lara Jean and her sisters. I appreciated that I could so strongly relate to that element because my brother and I were such close friends when we were younger.
Conclusion
The conclusion was undoubtedly abrupt, but fortunately, I’m reading this book after it has been completed, so I am aware that there will be a sequel (and already have it on hold at the library). I’m looking forward to seeing where Han takes the narrative. Like, yeah, I get that Lara Jean will most likely end up with Peter. But what else will be covered in the narrative? I’ll be curious to see how it develops in a trilogy (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before), as these kinds of Young Adult romances are typically one-offs.
Reviews
Although I have some difficulties with To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, I love charming Young Adult romances. When I’m completely engrossed in the plot and the passion between the characters, I tend to be less critical of the writing and minor details. Sorry. *shrugs,* I suggest this book if you’re looking for a lighthearted young love story. And I’m really looking forward to seeing the adaption tomorrow night!
